Max Hart Barnwell is an artist from Montreal, Canada working with analog photography. His practice is rooted in traveling and aims to shed light on our shared universality. Barnwell has taken part in group and solo exhibitions both locally and internationally while also partaking in various publications and art residencies. Most recently he spent time working on projects at Hangar in Lisbon and will be showing some new works in an upcoming group show held at CICA Museum in South Korea in Summer of 2024. For him, photography serves as a powerful tool– a means to attentively observe, question and ultimately better understand the unique particularities of our time. In this pursuit, he seeks to capture the intricate relationships between nature, humans and the objects that surround us.

Max Hart Barnwell es un artista de Montreal (Canadá) que trabaja con fotografía analógica. Su práctica se basa en los viajes y pretende arrojar luz sobre nuestra universalidad compartida. Barnwell ha participado en exposiciones colectivas e individuales tanto locales como internacionales, así como en diversas publicaciones y residencias artísticas. Recientemente ha trabajado en proyectos en el Hangar de Lisboa y mostrará algunas obras nuevas en una próxima exposición colectiva que tendrá lugar en el Museo CICA de Corea del Sur en el verano de 2024. Para él, la fotografía es una herramienta poderosa, un medio para observar atentamente, cuestionar y, en última instancia, comprender mejor las particularidades únicas de nuestro tiempo. En esta búsqueda, intenta capturar las intrincadas relaciones entre la naturaleza, los seres humanos y los objetos que nos rodean.

Barnwell ha participat en exposicions col·lectives i individuals tant locals com internacionals, així com en diverses publicacions i residències artístiques. Recentment ha treballat en projectes a l’Hangar de Lisboa i mostrarà algunes obres noves en una propera exposició col·lectiva que tindrà lloc al Museu CICA de Corea del Sud l’estiu del 2024. Per a ell, la fotografia és una eina poderosa, un mitjà per observar atentament, qüestionar i, en última instancia, comprendre millor les particularitats úniques del nostre temps. En aquesta recerca, intenteu captar les intricades relacions entre la natura, els éssers humans i els objectes que ens envolten.
