Espai Souvenir: A Hub for Artistic and Collaborative Innovation
Founded by Fabrizio Contarino and Antonio Marenco in 2017, Espai Souvenir is a vibrant non-profit space in Barcelona’s Gràcia neighborhood, dedicated to fostering artistic, cultural, and collaborative production.
In 2023, Alina Melnikova joined our team as an artist-in-residence, enriching our creative community. Our mission blends contemporary art with innovative audiovisual creation, offering a dynamic platform for interdisciplinary exchange.
Artistic Vision
Artistically directed by Fabrizio Contarino, a visual artist and researcher, Espai Souvenir champions critical, contextual, and interdisciplinary practices. We host: Exhibitions showcasing cutting-edge contemporary art, Residencies for local and international artists to research and create, Interdisciplinary events including performances and educational initiatives that spark dialogue between diverse cultural agents.
Collaborative Production
Coordinated by Antonio Marenco, Souvenir Film is our collaborative audiovisual creation laboratory. This innovative program hosts periodic editions, empowering artists and creators to produce bold, experimental works in a supportive environment.
Studios and Residencies
Espai Souvenir offers three studios for mid- to long-term stays, providing artists with dedicated spaces for research and production. Our international residency program welcomes creators from diverse backgrounds, fostering collaboration and public presentations. Alina Melnikova, our resident artist, develops her practice in dialogue with the space’s unique environment.
A Platform for Connection
As an independent hub, Espai Souvenir integrates a gallery, 3 artist studios, an audiovisual lab and a residency program to nurture creativity and collaboration. Our events and initiatives connect local and international artists, encouraging meaningful cultural exchange.
